Oral Exam Matters

Selection for student who will have their Oral Exam tomorrow will be done using random numbers. At Least 10 persons will be called for Accountancy Act and another 10 persons for Code of Ethics. Those who will not be called tomorrow and Tuesday will have their Oral Exam by next month for another topic. You will have at least 2 Oral Exams for the whole semester.

Points to be given will either be 4,6,8, or 10 points out 10 points depending on your answer.

Final Copy of Course Syllabus

Good Evening Guys!

We just had our 1st SBM Faculty Meeting with Fr. Yap, SJ. Dean Yacapin and Fr. Bobby Yap reminded us to distribute to our students a course syllabus which will serve as our contract, between you students and me as your teacher. I have already uploaded the revised and final course syllabus for Auditing Theory so please grab a copy of it. It can be found under course syllabus tab. In this syllabus you can find the topics that we will be discussing for the whole semester, the revised grading system and the revised letter grade table. I want to be as objective and transparent as possible that is why I will be sending to you,through this site and your email, your progress report so that you yourself can know how I will arrive at your letter grade.

Just a reminder, after grabbing a copy of the syllabus, please study in advance the topics enumerated there. Do not just photocopy it and let it rot in your folders or clipped inside your books.

Type of Exam and Instructions

Hello,

Here is the final type of questions in your first LT. This will be the first and the last time that I will announce the type of exam in my long tests. Your next exams will be either Multiple Choice, Identification, Essay or Enumerations.

For LT1, it will compose of 56 multiple choice questions (1 point each) and 2 short questions answerable by at most 5 sentences (2 points). Therefore the perfect score is 60 points and passing is 30.

MOST IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION

I don't want to waste paper so therefore, right all your answers to a separate answer sheet and DO NOT write anything on the test questionnaire because the other class will be using it. Violations about this procedure will face a certain amount of deduction from your test score. The answers to the long test and the test questionnaire can be downloaded by 9:00 PM. Your scores will be e-mailed to you afternoon of Sunday June 17, 2012.

Launch of the iBook version of our Class Discussions

If any of you have iPads or iPhone I will soon be launching an interactive iBook (beta version) for this subject. It will be available for download (free) at the iTunes store. For those who don't have these devices, don't worry I will be e-mailing you a pdf copy of the iBooks but this copy will not be interactive. I hope I can pull this through any time soon but if in case I can't then probably next year I can launch the full version. I need your help by commenting on the design and UI so that I can make some revisions. Thanks

Guys mark your audit and please be present during these dates. This is our tentative schedule and is still subject to change if there are activities and/or holidays.

Please also be reminded that once we have no class, it automatically follows that we will have a make-up class on Wednesday. Schedule of such make-up classes shall be announced in class.

Class Policies, Class Syllabus and 1st Day Instructions

Hello Students!! As much as I want to meet you all tonight, I have to defer that meet up until Thursday, June 7, 2012. I have a faculty meeting tonight and yes tomorrow we will not meet because I have a personal appointment. I am supposed to discuss my class policies, the coverage of the subject, books that we are to use and of course introduce myself tonight. To compensate for that, I have here attached under File Catalog (Class Policies and Syllabus) files enumerating those things that I am supposed to discuss tonight. Please download the file and read it for yourself. Everything is self-explanatory but in case you have questions please feel free to leave your comments on the forum or contact me through the numbers, e-mail and social accounts that I have enumerated in the file that you're supposed to download above.

Since we will not be meeting on Tuesday, I will be giving you something to read. You have to download it under File Catalog (PSA Ebooks). These will be the topics to be covered on our class on Thursday, Friday and Monday. After we have finished discussing the topics, we will have your first long test on June 14, 2012, Thursday. It will be a 50 items long test and type of test is multiple choice. So I am hoping that you will read the files while I am gone so that we can smoothly discuss the topics on Thursday.

Also, for each class I need a volunteer to be the class beadle. So please on Tuesday, decide among yourselves who will be the class beadle. For the chosen class beadle you are required to check the attendance daily and submit a report to me every Monday for the attendance the previous week. In addition, please also secure a list of the names of your classmates in your block together with their corresponding School ID and existing and valid e-mail address. Please e-mail the file to me on Wednesday night. (Thanks in advance! :)

Before I forget, all announcements regarding our class will be posted on this website and our official Facebook Group so please bookmark this site. The name of the Facebook Group will be announced on Thursday.

There will be no class on Thursday because of your JPIA camp. To compensate for the lost time we will have a make up class on June 13, 2012. The scheduled exam on June 14 still stands. Please add this facebook group Accounting 11.1 Auditing Theory (Block A and B).
